Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, along with Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Rd., in Augusta, announce services for Ms. Barbara C. Fitzpatrick, 65, of Hephzibah, who passed away on Sunday at the University Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 1 PM from the Providence Baptist Church in Danielsville with interment following in the church cemetery. Born in Jackson County, GA, she was the daughter of Robert E. Chasteen and the late Grethel Elrod Chasteen. She moved to Hephzibah in 1999. She worked for Shepard Blood Center as a recruiter for donors. Before moving to the area she worked for the Madison County School System. Barbara enjoyed cooking , reading, gardening, working with children and singing gospel songs. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. In addition to her father, she is survived by her fiancee, Wayne Totten; daughter, Kim Fitzpatrick of Commerce; sons, Bob (Tammy) Fitzpatrick of Danielsville, Troy (Anna) Totten of Grovetown; sister, Brenda Chasteen of Augusta; grandchildren, Cassandra Carey, Gretta Carey, Trey Carey and Andrew Carey; four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road Chapel in Augusta on Thursday evening from 7-9 PM and at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce on Friday evening also from 7-9 PM.
