Beatrice J. Slocum

Beatrice Jameson Slocum 85 of Commerce passed away Sunday Nov. 4, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Young and Dessie Frady Jameson and the widow of Rev. Johnny Charles Slocum. She retired from K-mart, she was a Pastor's wife for many years and her most important job was that of mother. She is survived by a son Rev. Joe (Olivia) Slocum , Daughters Sandara (Stan) Fricks and Karen (Mike) Barger along with three brothers Harold Jameson, Hoyt Jameson and Paul Jameson. Three sisters also survive, Pearl Looney , Maggie Walters and Stella Ray. 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Mrs.. Slocum was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Odis and Garnett Jameson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday Nov. 6, 2012 from the Madison Street Baptist Church with the Rev. David Harbin and Dr. Jim Waller officiating with burial in Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12 until 1 PM with the body placed in state in the church at 1:30 PM until the funeral hour of 2 PM.
