Born on June 16, 1957 in Commerce, GA, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Betty Free Simmons. He was employed in the poultry industry and was preceded in death by a son, Dave Simmons and a brother, James Simmons.
Survivors include a son, Robert Simmons, Athens; daughter, Brandy Simmons, Athens; brother, Edward Simmons, Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Daviona Allen, Davion Allen and Chevy Hayes, all of Athens, GA.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
