Brenda Joyce Duncan

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Brenda Joyce Chandler Duncan, 67, of Commerce who died late Thursday evening at the Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Duncan was the daughter of the late Winford and Mary Irene Shope Chandler and was the widow of Edward Thomas (Tommy) Duncan who passed away in February of this year. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Duncan Embrick (Kyle Parker) of Gainesville; grandchildren, Jenny Swain (John Stanley), Kristin (Jeremy) Acree, Kevin (Maggie Broome) Embrick, Lindsay Embrick; great-grandchildren, Bralynn Stanley, Cameron Stanley, Madi-Grace Acree. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 3 PM from the Canaan Baptist Church on Homestead Rd. in Commerce with Rev. David Strickland and Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Canaan Baptist Church Building Fund.
