Carter Jane White Ruth, age 83 of Baldwin, GA passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 while being cared for in The Oaks Personal Care Home at Scenic View.

Born on September 25, 1940 in Savanah, GA, Mrs. Ruth was the daughter of the late Carter and Janie Miller White. She was a beloved waitress at Taylor’s Restaurant, and was preceded in death by sons, Carl Smith Jr. and Christopher Smith.

Survivors include sons, Earl (Karen) Smith, Wayne (Lisa) Smith; brothers, Roy White and Gary White; sister Vickie Moody; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

In accordance with Mrs. Ruth’s wishes she was cremated and burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Varnville, SC.
