Charlie Ray Reeves, born on September 21, 1950, in Gainesville, GA, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, in Athens, GA. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
For many years, Charlie dedicated his career to produce distribution with Lanier Produce, where he was respected not only for his work ethic but also for his integrity and ability to connect with others. His commitment to excellence in his field was paralleled only by his devotion to his family.
Charlie is survived by his loving spouse of 45 years, Angie London Reeves, and their two daughters, Barbara (George) Lopez and Susan (Elias) Osornio-Villasenor. As the proud father of three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, his family was the center of his universe, and he took immense pride in each of their accomplishments and cherished moments together.
He was one of fifteen children born to Fred and Maude Lee Reeves, who have preceded him in death. Charlie’s large family background shaped his understanding of community and the importance of family bonds, providing him with a foundation of love and support throughout his life.
The community is invited to pay their respects during visitation services on January 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529. A funeral service will be held the following day, January 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM, culminating at the same location. Burial will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery.
Charlie Ray Reeves will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
