Charlie Boyd Strickland, Sr., age 81 of Athens, GA passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Nicholson, GA, Mr. Strickland was the son of the late Ernest and Mamie Sorrow Strickland and the widow of Evelyn Lord Strickland. He was a retired carpenter and was preceded in death by daughters, Margaret Adene Bowen and Shirley Ann Hattaway.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Charlie Boyd, Jr. and Debbie Strickland, Athens; sisters, Tina Stephens, Athens, Sarah Fisher, Lawrenceville; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 3:30 pm Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Macedonia Independent Holiness Church Cemetery.
