Chris Carthern

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Chris Carthern, 39, of Commerce who passed away on Friday from injuries sustained in an accident. Born in Commerce, he was the son of David and Pauline Anderson Carthern, also of Commerce. Survivors, along with his parents, include a son, Christopher Cole Carthern of Center, a brother, David Dean Carthern of Ila; 2 nieces; 1 nephew; and special friends, Yvonne Owensby and Jackie Thomas. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at 2 PM from the Calvary Baptist Church on Hospital Road with Revs. Donald Wilson and Jeeter Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-9 PM and at other times at the residence located at 1590 Waterworks Rd. in Commerce. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
