Claire Elrod Venable

Ivie Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Claire Elrod Venable, age 77, of Jefferson. Mrs. Venable was the daughter of the late James Terrell Elrod and the late Ruth Jacks Elrod. She is survived by 3 sons, Steve Douglas Venable of Jefferson, Timothy Allan Venable and Larry Randall Venable both of Athens; one brother, Theo Harrison Elrod of Evans, Ga. and 2 sisters, Betty Elrod Gibson of Jefferson and Martha Elrod Nelms of Athens, 2 grandchildren also survive. Services will be held on Thursday, June 26th at 3 PM in the Chapel of Ivie funeral Home with the Rev. Jesse Mealor officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 1-3 PM prior to the service.
