Dairl Parson

Dairl Parson, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 80 in Gainesville, Georgia. He was born on September 3, 1944, in Maysville, Georgia, to Bynum and Oradean Emmitt Parson, who preceded him in death.

Dairl dedicated his life to his craft as a self-employed carpenter, where he applied his skills and creativity with pride and passion. His commitment to quality work and service left a lasting impact on those he worked with and contributed to his strong reputation in the community.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Parson, who stood by his side throughout their years together. Dairl cherished his son, Marty Parson and daughter, Dana Weems, both of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life. He was also a proud grandfather to three grandchildren and a soon to be great-grandfather, who will remember him fondly for his loving spirit and guidance.

Dairl’s legacy is further carried on by his brothers, Steve Parson and Waymon Parson, who shared many memories with him over the years.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Michael Parson and Marcus Parson, who were a significant part of his life. Reginald also mourned the loss of his sister, Kathleen Brock, and brothers Hermon Parson, Sam Parson, Otis Parson, Charles Parson, Howard Parson, and Roy Parson, who have all passed on.

The family will hold a visitation on January 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, Georgia, located at 1053 S. Elm Street. A funeral service will take place the following day, January 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at Ivie Funeral Home. Burial will follow at The Grove Cemetery.

Dairl Parson will be remembered not only for his contributions to his craft and family but also for the generous spirit he shared with all who knew him. His presence will be profoundly missed.
