Dorothy Jones Mizell

Dorothy Geneva Jones Mizell age 89 of Commerce passed away December 23, 2015 at the Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Mizell was born November 24, 1926 in Homer to the late John & Leona Moore McDuffie. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James H. Jones and her second husband, Bill Mizell.
Survivors include, daughter, Sarah Jones Johnson of Commerce, grandson, Robert Johnson of New Jersey, granddaughter, Kelley Johnson Salas of Waleska, sisters, Winnie Roach of Fayetteville, & Betty McClung of Commerce, brothers, Joe McDuffie of Maysville, Gene McDuffie of Commerce, & Leon McDuffie of Commerce. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday Dec. 26, 2015 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday Dec. 26, 2015 at the Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Duncan officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Memorial Gardens.
