Dorothy Alberie Owensby

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Dorothy Alberie Owensby, 78, of Commerce who passed away at her residence on Thursday evening. Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late Alvery and Viola Skinner Dalton and was the widow of Jimmy Owensby. She was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Ray Bennett and brothers, Larry and Roger Dalton. Survivors include sons, Ricky Anthony Bennett of Royston, Wesley Owen Bennett of Commerce, Mitchell Alvery Owensby of Royston, Guy Daniel Owensby of Commerce and Darren Keith Owensby of Commerce; siblings, Merel Dalton of Jefferson, Barbara Gordon of Royston, Libby Holiday of Arcade, Rebecca Standridge of Martin, Norma Cromer of Spartanburg, SC, Margie Fitzpatrick of Danielsville, Angie Hernandez of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM Saturday evening.
