Dwayne Jewell Welborn age 80 passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23 2025 At Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Surrounded by family that loved and adored him. Following a brief illness.

He was Born July 3, 1944 to the late Grady and Clemmie (Chambers) Welborn, at their home in Gillsville GA. He is also preceded in death by the loving mother of his children, Peggy Cotton Welborn, as well as his Brothers, Howard and Hoyle Welborn, and sister Grace Nell Morris.

Dwayne was a proud farmer and worked for over 20 years with Cornet Bridge Company. Dwayne was a hard-working, humble man that enjoyed the simple things in life. He "loved to tinker” and shared all of his knowledge with his sons and grandsons. He could fix anything and was passionate about his hobbies. He enjoyed his time on earth by growing his love for Tractors, Drag Racing and Classic Cars. He was a Chevrolet, Massey Ferguson and Allis-Chalmers tractor man. He was lucky enough to have a few of those in his own collection over the years. You could find him spring, summer and fall at the drag strip, rod run or traveling to tractor shows and tractor pulls with his family.

He leaves behind on this earth the family that loved and adored him, that will be forever grateful for all that he taught them, the values that he instilled, and the memories he leaves with them. Sons and daughters-in-laws, Raymond and Lisa Welborn, Andrew and Amanda Welborn; Grandchildren, Colton Carter, Dawson Welborn, Ethan, Logan and Cayden Anderson. Great-Grandsons, Remington and Walker Carter.

The family has chosen to have a private Memorial. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that a donation be made in his memory to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. To show their deepest appreciation of the excellent care he was given. In Dwayne's famous words. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to the hospice staff.
