Elizabeth 'Sis' Pace Green

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Elizabeth "Sis" Pace Green of Nicholson who passed away at home following an extended illness on August 27th, 2013. She was born to the late Barney Bell and Lena Williamson Pace in Nicholson on August 7th, 1925. Elizabeth graduated from Benton, receiving her High School Diploma during a time when few people in rural Georgia were successful in the attempt. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lam Thomas Green. She is also preceded in death by her two brothers: G.B. Pace, Gene Pace and her sister Lurine Pace Bradberry. Her daughter, Ann Greene Hubbard, also precedes her in death.
Elizabeth was a lifelong resident of Nicholson, where she devoted her time to her family. She worked, until her retirement in the 1980's, at Oxford Manufacturing as a master seamstress.
She is survived by two children: Larry "Tommy" Greene, Sr. and Connie Denise Greene Wood, and devoted friend, Jan Hill all of Nicholson. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Cheryl (Darren) Glenn of Jefferson, Leslie (Gerald) Damron of Nicholson, Larry "Bug" Greene, Jr. of Nicholson, Maranda (Katrina) Solomon of Lilburn, Randy (Brittany) Wood of Carnesville, and Candice Wood of Nicholson; twelve great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Pall Bearers will be: Larry "Bug" Greene, Randy Wood, Lee Knight, Darren Glenn, Jerry Damron and TJ Freeman. Honorary Pall Bearer will be: Trey Freeman.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday August 29th from 6 PM until 9 PM. Services will be held in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home on Friday August 30th at 2 PM with Rev. Bobby Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Howington Cemetery in Nichonson, GA.
