Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Ellen Anderson Ledford, 67, of Pendergrass went to Heaven on Sunday at the Northeast GA Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Dawsonville, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Dorsey and Lilly Fair Anderson and was married to Ned Ledford of the residence. Other survivors include her children, Chris Ledford and David O'Kelley, both of Gainesville and Michael and Larry Ledford, both of Pendergrass; grandchildren, Allison O'Kelley, Lindsey Smith, Preston O'Kelley, Brandon O'Kelley and Daylen Ledford; 1 great grandchild; sisters, Faye Buffington and Janice Greenway, both of Gainesville.
She had struggled with sickness for many years, but never lost her faith in God. Most people in times of hardship ask God why, but Ellen used her hardship to show everyone God's grace. Laying beside her bed were scriptures that she had been studying and in bold print she wrote "I have been through the fire, but I have not been burned"! That statement alone exemplifies the strength and willpower she had and found only in the company of her faith and of her loved ones. We will miss you until we see you again, "Moma" "Nanny" "Nana"..."OUR GUARDIAN ANGEL". We will live life loving caring and giving for others the way that you brought us up doing. We love you with all of our hearts and souls.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Dyer and Rev. Toby Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday night and Wednesday night from 5-8 PM.
