Ellen (Waldroup) Toney

Ellen W. Toney, age 84 of Jacksonville, FL passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023.

Born on Feb. 10, 1939 in Commerce, GA, Ms. Toney was the daughter of the late Daniel Waldroup and Gladys Burnett Clark. She was the widow of William Franklin “Frank” Toney and was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Lynwood Walroup, Maurice Waldroup, Robert Waldroup, Jimmy Thomas, and Gail DeTournillion.

Survivors include her children, Katina Toney (LeeAnn), Frankie Toney (Shanna), Robert Toney (Lydia); 6 grandchildren, Walter, William and Michael Reems, Mikail Childs, Wyatt and Walker Toney; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Thelma Lott, Doris Lott, Gloria Elliott, Martha Waldroup, and Katherine Clark.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023 at Webb’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. James Dumas officiating. Ms. Toney will lie in state from 1 PM until the funeral hour at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday evening.
