Eunice Stephens Mealor

Eunice Stephens Mealor, 86, of Jefferson, GA, went home to heaven on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was a devoted wife, Mom and Grandmommy who demonstrated gentleness, grace and compassion to those she met. She loved her family. She enjoyed nothing more than feeding her children, grandchildren and their friends in her home. She is remembered for hosting tea parties, working on art projects, and reading with her grandchildren. Mrs. Eunice was also a faithful member of Brockton Road Baptist Church for over 50 years. She served as a pastor’s wife for many of these years, and led many children to the Lord, rejoiced with those who rejoiced, and wept with those who wept.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Pastor Jesse Mealor of Jefferson; three children, Patsy & Rex Wallace of Jefferson, Brenda & Dennis Brown of Dacula, and Karl & Jenny Mealor of Demorest; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Waymon and Lola Stephens, her brother and sister, James Stephens and Monteen Akins, and two sons, David Gene Mealor and Donny Ray Mealor.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, December 26 at Brockton Road Baptist Church in Jefferson with remarks given by her children and grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at the church beginning two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Riverside Baptist Church in Maysville, GA with Pastor John Strickland officiating. Her earthly journey began in Maysville, and her family finds comfort that she returns to Maysville to be buried alongside precious friends and family.
