Evelyn Mealor Sorrow

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Evelyn Mealor Sorrow, 81, of Commerce who passed away early Saturday morning at her residence. Born in Maysville, she was the daughter of the late Evans and Pratt Burke Mealor and was the widow of Hayward William Sorrow. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Mealor and Mary Lou Bishop. Survivors include her children, Janice Ramsey, Joanne Sorrow, Jill Sorrow and Joel Sorrow, all of Commerce; grandchildren, Jordan Ramsey, Erin Ramsey, Nathan Sorrow, Andrew Sorrow and Amanda Joy Sorrow; siblings, Jesse Mealor of Jefferson, Billy Mealor of Lula and Millie Vaughn of Commerce; 7 nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at 3 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Bro. Jesse Mealor and Bro. Joel Sorrow officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5-8 PM and at other times at the residence located at 190 Berea Church Rd. in Commerce.
