George Early Bruce

George Early Bruce, a cherished member of his community and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, in Atlanta, GA. Born on June 6, 1952, in Commerce, GA, George was a vibrant presence whose passion for life touched the hearts of many.

George dedicated his professional career as a machinist with Eaton Corp., where he was known for his skill and dedication. His work ethic and commitment to quality were evident in all that he did, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends.

A devoted family man, George is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Bougher Bruce, and his children, Jennifer (B.J.) Sosebee and Jonathon Bruce. He was a proud grandfather to Katie Sosebee, Cat Sosebee Willis, and J.T. Sosebee, providing them with guidance, love, and unforgettable memories. His sister, Audrey and Bruce Brady; brother-in-law, Harold Mauldin; and a number of nieces and nephews will miss him dearly. 

In addition to his immediate family, George was preceded in death by his parents, George Berry and Lydia Seay Bruce, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. He also mourned the loss of his daughter, Amy D. Bruce, and his siblings, Martha Mauldin and Harold Lee Bruce, whose memories will forever hold a significant place in the hearts of those who loved him.

George was a committed member of Pleasant Acres Church, where he found fellowship and connection within his community. His spiritual journey and contributions to the church reflected his desire to serve and uplift those around him.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will be held at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, GA, on February 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at Pleasant Acres Baptist Church in Maysville, GA, on February 7, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery in Maysville, GA.

George Early Bruce's legacy of love, commitment, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered.
