Ion Balaban

Ion Balaban, age 99 of Commerce, GA passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at his residence.

Born on May 4, 1922 in Saseni Galati, Romania, Mr. Balaban was the son of the late Andronache and Sofia Rosu Balaban. He was a WWII veteran and was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Lawrenceville, GA.

Survivors include his sons, Eugene Balaban, Silviu Balaban, Gelu Balaban, Dorin Balaban, Titu Balaban; daughters, Nela Mihai, Rodica Enache, Adelfica Domitracu; 36 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Ivie Funeral Home Friday January 7, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held 6 PM Friday, January 7, 2022 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel. Additional visitation will take place on Saturday January 8, 2022 from 2-3 pm at Ivie Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery.
