Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for J.C. Swain, 86, of Commerce who passed away on Thursday at NE GA Medical Center in Gainesville. Mr. Swain was the son of the late Walter Swain, Sr. and the late Annie Lou Gee Swain and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Sorrow Swain, a daughter, Brenda Swain and a brother, Walter Swain, Jr. Survivors include his children, Danny Swain, Mark Swain, Terry Swain and Judy Ward, all of Commerce; grandchildren, Nathan Ward, Megan Ward, Caleb Swain, Samuel Swain, Jennifer Swain Lance, Justin Swain and Zack Swain; great grandchildren, Trey Pace, Brayden Lance and Jayden Swain; brothers, Edgar Swain, Fred Swain, Arthur Swain and Joe Swain. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 11 AM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with interment following in the Nicholson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-9 PM. Grandchildren, Nathan, Megan, Caleb, Samuel, Jennifer and Justin, will serve as pallbearers.
