James had a distinguished career, retiring from Kraft Foods, where he dedicated many years of his life to his work. His contributions to the company and the friendships he fostered along the way are fondly remembered by those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

James was a cherished son of James Edward and Vera Bone Herbert, both of whom predeceased him, as did his brother Bobby Herbert. Despite the loss of family members, James's legacy lives on through the love of his surviving family. He is survived by his son, Ken E. Herbert, along with his daughter-in-law Debbie. James also took great joy in the company of his two grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who brought light to his later years with their youthful spirits and laughter.
