James "Gary" Lester

Ivie Funeral Home of Commerce announces the passing of Mr. James “Gary” Lester age 75 of Danielsville, GA on June, 28th, 2022 . Mr. Lester was born January 19th, 1947 to the late Clifford “Theron” and Connie Geneva Thompson Lester. Mr. Lester was a graduate of Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville, and Dekalb Technical College. Mr. Lester enjoyed a long career and retired from Phillips Company.

Mr. Lester is survived by his brother, Rodney Lester, Sisters, Brenda Ashmore, and Becky (Gary) Miller. He is also survived by nieces Meghan Alvarez (Sixto and son Samuel), and Allison Keating (Will, and daughters Charlotte and Gwendolyn). Nephews Rodney Lester Jr. (Amanda), and Zachary Miller (Kristen, and children Adeline, Fletcher and Brock)

Mr. Lester had special lifelong closeness to his Aunt Vera and Uncle Avery Lester and Cousin Debbie Lester, as well as his Aunt Patsy Turner and Aunt Shirley, and Uncle Quinton Thompson. Mr. Lester will be dearly missed by his many cousins, extended family and friends.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00PM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
