James (Jim) Scroggs

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for James T. (Jim) Scroggs, 69, of Maysville who passed away early Tuesday morning from injuries sustained in an accident. Born in Maysville, he was the son of the late Thomas Lee and Ruth Ann Savage Scroggs. Jim wa a retired rural letter carrier and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was also an avid gospel music singer and was a member of the Salvation-Aires and the Encouragers and a former member of the New Pilgrims. Survivors include his wife of the residence, Katrina Harm Scroggs; children, Eva Christine Harrison of Braselton, Mindi Lee and Michael Greenland of Bethlehem, Seidina Jean Scroggs of Gainesville and James Michael and Lisa Scroggs, also of Gainesville; grandchildren, Haley Harrison, Kaitlyn Harrison, Callie Harrison and Jillian Scroggs; great-grandchild, Iris Warman; sister, Shirley Crane of Thomasville, NC; nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Whitlock and Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-9 PM.
