Janice Elaine Archer

Janice Elaine Archer, a devoted mother, grandmother, and respected self-employed bookkeeper, passed away on December 21, 2024, in her beloved hometown of Athens, Georgia. Born on April 27, 1951, Janice dedicated her life to her family and her work, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She was the cherished spouse of Aucy "Mike" Archer and a proud mother to her three children: Christy Archer Bynum, John "Dale" (Heather) Archer, and Casey M. (Tracy) Archer, and a brother, Gary Cowart. Janice found great joy in her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren: Sarah Edwards, Mara Ashley Archer, Jillian Grace Archer, Audrey Claire Archer, Pierson Archer, and Taylor Bynum Orozco-Partida, and Zack Bynum. Her family continued to grow, and she lovingly welcomed her great-grandchildren, Chloe Jane Bynum, Juliet Orozco, and all of her extended relatives into her heart.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Edward and Minnie Flora Pearson Cowart; and a brother, Michael Cowart. Despite her loss, her legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Janice Elaine Archer will be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her family, her commitment to her career, and her significant contributions to the community. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held 11 am Friday, Jan. 10, 2025 at Nicholson Baptist Church with a meal and fellowship to follow in the fellowship hall.
