Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Mrs. Jeanette Millwood Dale, age 74, of Gillsville, Ga who passed on to be with the Lord on July 17th, 2015. after a short hard fought battle with cancer, Jeanette went peacefully. She was born November 27th, 1940 in Gainesville, Ga to the late Marion Benjamin Millwood and Selena Evelyn Clark Millwood. In her lifetime she had many adventures from coaching ball for many years to watching her children and grandchildren grow up. There was not one thing she wouldn't do for her children. They were her everything. She was also a grandma that loved her grandkids with all her heart. She was proud of each one of them. One of her proudest moments recently was the gift of a baby boy to her youngest son Todd and daughter-n-law Rebecca. The whole city of Gillsville heard the news before they got in the car to go pick him up. She was equally as proud of her 4 great grandkids whom called her Nanny Dale. However, they weren't the only ones that called her that. She was also a Nanny Dale to all the kids in the community and all those that visited her house often. Some of her other interest included being a CNA at Autumn Breeze Nursing Home in Gainesville and cooking excellent meals at local restaurants. Those meals like homemade biscuits and gravy, chicken and dumplings, and chicken dressing would fill you up and leave you asking for more. Jeanette was also known as the local taxi driver for Gillsville, Anyone that needed a ride to a doctor's appointment, hospital or grocery store called her. She loved that job, Helping others was a passion for her. She was also dependable, trusting, and a good hearted women. Her marriage of 58 years to John signifies that. She loved her husband and was proud of the life they spent together and the family they raised. Many days when Jeanette wasn't taking care of someone else, you could find her at home with "Buddy" watching the game show network. Oh how she loved her soaps and game shows. Jeanette is a person that anyone who met her would never forget her. She had that kind of impact on you. She was remarkable and one of a kind. The definition of a daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She leaves a legacy that we are proud to speak about and proud of. Jeanette is survived by her husband of 58 years John Dale, her 3 sisters, Rhonda Kisner, Donna Standridge and Claudette Millwood, her 4 children and their spouses, Mike and Penny Dale, Johnna and Jimmy Cole, Todd and Rebecca Dale, and Tonya and James Daniel, 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Keenan and Erica Cole, Ashley and Robert Chambers, Amber and Geoffrey Ledford, Dustin and Amanda Cole, Ariel Daniel, Kaitlyn Daniel, Laylon Daniel, and Jathan Dale, 4 great grandkids, Josey Chambers, Kinleigh Ledford, Sawyer Chambers, and Colt Ledford. She is also survived by many other close family members and friends. Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents Marion and Selena Millwood, son, Richard Lavern Dale, and sister Paulette Webb. Jeanette touched the lives of many. We would like you all to come join us to celebrate her life and accomplishments. Visitation will be from 3-5PM and 6-8PM on Saturday July 18th, 2015 at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, Ga. Services will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church at 3PM Sunday July 19th, 2015 with the Revds. Marshall Dale, Ray Turpin, Samuel Dale and Phil Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery
