Ivie Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Jerry Lee Lewis,70, of Maysville, Ga who died Saturday evening surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Lewis was the son of the late Sharp and Stella Wilbanks Lewis and was also preceded in death by his wife Martha Boswell Lewis, a granddaughter Kinlee Lewis, brothers, Jack, Regis, Telvia, Robert and sisters, Mary Lou Lewis Glore and Henrietta Lewis Dorsey. Jerry was a member of Nicholson Baptist Church.
Jerry is survived by one daughter, Nicole Lewis Murphy, one son, Josh (Jenna) Lewis both of Homer, a sister, Louise (Penny) Jordan of Flowery Branch and grandchildren, Gavin Brown, Chloe Poole, Reese and Ryleigh Murphy, Brycen Murphy, and Beckham and Graham Lewis. He is also survived by special friend, Jurelle Cobb.
Mr. Lewis was retired from Certain Teed and was employed by Ollie's Bargain Outlet. He was a BCHS Class of 1972 Officer and was best known as "Plum". Jerry was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed wood working but was most at home in a gym or on a ballfield. He was a former Mayor and Councilman of Maysville.
The family requests that softball and basketball, boys and girls, Middle and High School players and his Country Wide players along with any past and present coaches serve as Honorary Pall Bearers and to wear blue.
Visitation will be held at Ivie Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 5-8 PM. Services will be on Thursday at 2PM from the Nicholson Baptist Church with the Rev. Russ Brown officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery.
Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Jerry Lee Lewis.
