Joe Birch Moore

Joe Birch Moore, 91 of Maysville passed away June 27, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Moore was born June 30, 1922 in Homer to the late George W. and Cora Whitfield Moore. He was a retired Auto Body Technician with Hardy Chevorlet. Mr. Moore served his country in the United States Army having fought in World War II. He was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers. J.T. Moore, George Hubbard Moore, and Thomas Dorsey Moore. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday June 29, 2014 at the Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Voyles officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sam Bates officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 3:00PM Sunday June 29, 2014 at the Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce. Survivors include, Virginia "Jinner" Moore, wife of Maysville; so and daughter in law, Barry and Mary Jean Moore of Gainesville; son, Garry S. Moore of Commerce; step-son and wife, Darrell and Carol Kent of Hoschton; sisters, Bonnie Cash of Chattanooga,TN, Barbara Sue Holcomb of Gillsville, Ruby Abernathy of Lula, Reba Aiken of Maysville, Brother, Kenneth Moore of Flowery Branch, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
