Obituary:
On July 6, 2024, the world bid farewell to a beloved soul, Johnnie Sharon Davis, who passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville Georgia. She was born on July 8, 1950, in Gwinnett County, Georgia, to her loving parents Johnny and Janie McDaniel Holcombe.
Johnnie's journey through life was marked by her dedication to the food service industry, where she worked tirelessly until her well-deserved retirement. Her hospitality in this field touched the lives of many and left a impact.
Beyond her career, Johnnie was known for her warm affection towards animals and her passion for quilting. Her hands created masterpieces that will be cherished for generations to come.
She is reunited in eternity with her parents, Johnny and Janie McDaniel Holcombe, as well as her husband James Davis, who had preceded her in death. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Johnnie leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will be carried on by her surviving family members. Her daughter Christy Hill of Commerce, brother Terry Holcombe of Gastonia, North Carolina, sisters Peggy Cooper of Maysville, and Linda Mize of Arnoldsville, Georgia mourn her loss deeply. A grandchild also remains to cherish the wonderful memories created with their beloved grandmother.
Visitation to honor and remember Johnnie Sharon Davis will take place at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce on Tuesday July 9, 2024. The viewing will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 PM. Following this, a Graveside Service will be held at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Pendergrass at 1:00 PM on July 9, 2024. These moments are an opportunity for family and friends to share their final goodbyes and celebrate the beautiful life that Johnnie lived.
In every stitch of a quilt, she created and every act of kindness she shared with animals, Johnnie Sharon Davis's memory will live on eternally in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was cherished deeply and loved beyond measure.
