Julie Evelyn Mccollum

Miss Julie Evelyn McCollum, age 65 of Commerce, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on September 13, 2022 at Piedmont Athens Hospital.   Miss McCollum was born in Commerce to the late Sara Nell McCollum and the late Charles E. McCollum.  She was of Baptist faith.    In addition to her parents, Miss McCollum was also predeceased by her sister, Charlene McCollum Roberts, and her brothers, Charles Edward McCollum, Jr. and James David McCollum.

Miss McCollum is survived by her brother, Douglas McCollum (Barbara), Toccoa; her nieces Michelle Roberts Wolfe (Bragg), Bogart; Felicia McCollum Sullivan (Alex), Toccoa; and nephew, Christopher McCollum (Brittany), Toccoa; and several great nieces, great nephews, cousins.  Special cousins:  Judy Jackson Wilson, Tammy Wilson Bruce, Hillary Wilson Shields and Clark Hamilton Wilson Bruce, Commerce.

Julie was a loving and devoted aunt and mother figure to Michelle for 46 years and will be terribly missed by Michelle and all those who loved her.

While her family and friends are shocked by her death, we are thankful for her life. Julie was a loving lady who relished the simple pleasures of life. She loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons play football and NASCAR races and especially loved attending football games and races with her brother, Douglas.   She always had a smile to share and the ability to find happiness in her daily activities.  As a passionate animal lover, Julie considered her miniature dachshund, Scooter, to be her child.

As per, Julie's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held, only a private visitation with family.

Because our pets give us unconditional love and enrich our lives, in lieu of flowers, Julie would be honored to have a memorial sent in her memory to any Animal Rescue Association or Humane Society of your choice.
