Katherine Elaine Baker Queen, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, Maysville, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy of love and creativity. Born on March 13, 1967, in Athens, Georgia, Katherine was deeply rooted in her Christian faith, which was a guiding light throughout her life.
A dedicated professional, Katherine found fulfillment in her career at Sims Pottery, where her artistic talents greatly shown. Her work not only showcased her skills but also her passion for crafting beautiful pieces that brought joy to many.
Katherine is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Ashley (Kehne) Brummette, and her beloved grandchildren, Kohen and Dawson Brummette, who filled her life with endless happiness. She is also survived by her brothers, Kenny (Tammy) Baker and Ricky (Cindi) Baker, as well as several cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom were dear to her heart. In her later years, Katherine had the support and companionship of her significant other, Neil Evans, with whom she shared many beautiful moments.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Ruth Elaine Massey Baker, whose love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on March 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529. A funeral service will take place the following day, March 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at Ivie Funeral Home, concluding with a time of remembrance for her impactful life. Burial will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery.
Katherine Elaine Queen will be deeply missed, but her spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
