Imogene Chambers, 92, of Homer, Ga. passed away at her residence on Saturday July, 29, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Jim and Martha Tanner Irvin. She was proceeded in death in death by her husband J.T. Chambers and 4 sons, Larry , Jerry, Dennis and Wesley. Mrs. Chambers is survived by 2 daughters, Judy Chambers Miller of Homer, and Rita Chambers ( James) McNatt of Homer. 4 Grandchildren, Stephanie Miller, Brian (Angie) Miller, Chris Chambers and Amy Chambers ( Dave) Rudolph, 4 Great Grandchildren Owen and Ethan Miller and Sydney and Alex Rudolph. She is also survived by one brother, George ( Martha) Irvin of
Alpharetta, Ga. and daughter in law Sharon Chambers of Commerce. Mrs. Chambers loved to garden, draw and sew and had many poems published in the American Poetry Society. She was a faithful member of the Homer Baptist Church where she served as a Deacon's wife and taught many years as a Sunday School Teacher. She was truly a woman of God and had read the Bible through many times before her eyesight failed and then she relied on her daughters to read to her.
Visitation for Mrs. Chambers will be Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home and
Services will be Tuesday at 2 PM from the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Crabbe, Pastor Scotty Poole and James McNatt officiating. Burial will be in the Homer Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
