Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Martha Janette Howard (Janet) 64, of Commerce, went to be with the Lord in Heaven March 21, 2013.
Born in Commerce, Ga, the daughter of the late Malcolm Chandler and Mary Chandler. She was preceeded in death by her husband Wayne Howard, brothers Larry Chandler & Jerry Chandler, and grandson Nicholas Wilbanks.
Survivors include her mother Mary Wade (Commerce), son Rodney Wilbanks & wife Brandy (Commerce), daughter Angela Dawn Wilbanks & husband Juan Bel Angel Martinez (Mexico), sisters Myra & Bob Ward (Mobile,Al) & Wanda Chandler (Commerce) and 6 grandchildren: Chloe Wilbanks, Courtney and husband Matt O'Bannon, Kevin Wilbanks, Kaleb Wilbanks, Stefania Bel Angel Wilbanks, Maria Guadalupe Bel Angel Wilbanks, and one great grandchild Ollieanna O'Bannon, and 5 nieces and nephews.
Janet was a wonderful, fun loving woman who never met a stranger. In 2010 Janet was diagnosed with cancer in 5 lymph nodes. Only given a few weeks to live, family & friends began to pray. Janet surrendered her life 100% to the Lord Jesus Christ and God sent a miracle down and healed her body of cancer! From that point forward, every person she met from the grocery store, beauty shop, even strangers on the street; she testified about what her Lord & Saviour had done for her & what He could do for them. Even on her death bed, Janet tested free & clear of cancer! What a mighty God we serve! What God sets free is free indeed. May friends and family find peace & comfort knowing Janet is in the loving arms of her Lord Jesus Christ today.
The Family would like to extend a special "THANK YOU" to all of Janet's caregivers, including Melissa Layman & Kim Keenan.
The Memorial service will be held Thursday March 28th at 2pm at Macedonia Holiness Church: 795 Macedonia Church Rd. Danielsville, Ga. Family will receive flowers & food between 11am-1pm at the church Thursday. Rev. Rodney Wilbanks will be officiating.
