Mary Turpin

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Mary Turpin, 91, of Commerce who passed away on Friday morning at the Northridge Health and Rehab Center in Commerce. Born in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Lelia Massey Whitfield and was the widow of Robert Turpin. She was also preceded in death by a son, Edward Turpin and a granddaughter, Tracey Lynn Turpin. Survivors include two sons, Charlie and Sharon Turpin and Earnest and Joyce Turpin, both of Homer; grandchildren, Dina Turpin Gailey, Tina Turpin Kelley, Amanda Turpin, Douglas Turpin, Lisa Turpin Whitehead, Colby Turpin and Robby Turpin; 10 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; a sister, Rose Leachman of Commerce; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 3 PM from the Bethany Christian Church in Homer with Rev. Vaughn Howington and Rev. William Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6-9 PM and at other times at the residence of Earnest and Joyce Turpin located at 397 Berlin Rd. in Homer. Mrs. Turpin will lie in state at the church for 30 minutes prior to the service.
