Ivie Funeral Home announces the death of Max Alvis, 74, of Commerce. Mr. Alvis passed away Sunday, November 4th, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Alice Alvis, and son Max Alvis, Jr. Survivors include his wife Mary Alvis of Commerce; son Austin Alvis of Commerce; daughter Deborah Alvis of Burlington, WA; sisters Gwendel (Sonny) Kelley of Cullman, AL; Goldie (Jim) Gardner of Cullman, AL; and several nieces and nephews. There is no service planned at this time.
