Maxine Janie (Daniel) Ellis

Maxine Janie Daniel Ellis, age 79 of Commerce, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Born on April 18, 1944 in Danielsville, GA, Mrs. Ellis was the daughter of the late Hoyt and Thelma Patrick Daniel. She was the widow of her first husband, Royce Whitehead and her second husband, Hal Ellis. Mrs. Ellis was an environmental technician with Northeast Georgia Medical, a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Royce Whitehead; sister, Jean Daniel; brothers, Jack Daniel, and Johnny Daniel.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlene (Chris) Bennett; sister, Ida Mae Richardson; brother, Fred Daniel; grandchildren, Daniel (Kelly) Morrison, Lindsey (Matt) Pilkington, Colby (Monica) Bennett; great-grandchildren, Emily Pilkington, Charlee Pilkington, and Bridger Morrison.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
