Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Oscar Paul Duckworth, 71, of Commerce who passed away at the Athens Regional Medical Center early Monday morning. Mr. Duckworth was a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Army. Born in South Carolina, he was the son of the late Floyd Clarence and Sarah Trayum Duckworth and was also preceded in death by five brothers, Bill, Van, Roy, Pluma and John Oliver Duckworth. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pugh Duckworth of the residence, a daughter, Annette Duckworth Ragsdale of SC, sisters, Cora Grubbs of Lavonia and Dale Carlan of Maysville, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for Wednesday at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Thompson and Rev. Kendall Scott officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM and at other times at the residence located at 160 Highland Estate in Commerce.
