Russell Ray Griffin

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Russell Ray Griffin Sr. 75 of Nicholson, Ga. who died Dec. 25, 2011. He was the son of the late Luther and Amy Certain Griffin and retired from the carpet industry. Survivors include his wife Bonnie G. Griffin of the home, 3 sons Russell Ray ( Shelby) Griffin Jr. of Athens, Ga. Anthony Griffin of Nicholson, Brian (Jill) Griffin of Jefferson 2 Daughters Betsy ( Richard) Wiggins of Cumming, Susan (Mike) Peneguy of Colbert, one brother Qunnion Griffin of Toccoa 5 sisters Ollie Fowler of Anderson, S.C. Barbara Manley of Toccoa, Joette Roach of Seneca, S.C., Joyce Peeples of Toccoa and Janice Pulliam of Toccoa. 14 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchidlren also survive. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by a brother Carter Griffin.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday Dec. 28, 2011 from the New Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Goodroe officiating with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
