Samuel Billy Parson

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Samuel Billy Parson, 79, of Commerce who died on Sunday at his residence. Born in Maysville, he was the son of the late Bynum and Oradean Emmett Parson and was married to Brenda Smith Parson of the residence. Survivors, along with his wife, include children, Billy (Glenda) Parson of Commerce, Jackie Sorrow of TN, Samantha Gonzalez of Commerce, Michael Parson of Commerce; 6 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren; brothers, Dairl Parson of Maysville, Waymon Parson of Commerce, Steve Parson of Maysville; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Revs. Brian Stowe, Swayne Carlan and Donald Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 PM and at other times at the home located at 131 Willoughby Homes in Commerce.
