Steve Douglas Venable, age 59 of Athens, GA (Jackson County) passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his residence.
Born on January 4, 1959 in Athens, GA, he was the son of the late Larry Harold Venable and Claire Elrod Venable. He was a computer operator, of the Baptist faith, had a Bachelor Degree at Troy University and took some graduate courses at University of Southern Miss.
Survivors include brothers and sister-in-law, Timothy and Kathy Venable, Athens, Larry Randall Venable, Buford; two nephews, Samuel and Joshua; and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held 3 pm Friday, March 23, 2018 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jesse Mealor officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jefferson. The family will receive friends 1 pm until time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Troy University Athletics Track Foundation, 5000 Veterans Stadium Dr., Troy, AL 36082.
