Thelma Helen Dove Benton

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Thelma Helen Dove Benton who passed away on Tuesday October 8th, 2013 at Southern Pines in Maysville. Ms. Benton was born in Hall County to the late John and Nonie Dove. Along with her parents she was preceded in death husband, Roy Benton; daughter, Alice Carol Benton; sister, Willie Hewell; and son-in-law, Norman Marvel. Survivors include her daughters Shirley Ann Benton (Doug) Nolin of FL, Charlotte Wynette Benton Marvel of AR, and Brenda Jo Benton (Wyley) Turpin of Gillsville; sons Mitchell Milford (Sandra) Benton of Lula, and Timothy Roger (Deborah) Benton; sisters Margie House and Johnnie Gowder both of Lula; brother Edward Dove of Lula; brother-in-law Billie Hewell of Lula; twelve grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday night October 9th from 6 PM - 8 PM. Services will be held Thursday October 10th at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Dustin Porter and John Wayne Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Lula.
