Thelma Johnson Hardy

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Thelma Johnson Hardy, 96, of Commerce who passed away on Tuesday evening at the Northridge Medical Center in Commerce. Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Mack and Ella Burns Borders. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John Wesley Johnson and E. J. Hardy. Survivors include a daughter, Willie Johnson Gaston of Decatur and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 12 Noon from the Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Commerce with Rev. Theodore Braswell officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hardy will lie in state at the funeral home during the day on Thursday afternoon and all day on Friday as well as at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service. No evening visitations are scheduled.
