Thelma Geneva Smith

Ivie Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Thelma Geneva Smith, age 80, of Commerce who passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late George T. Wilson and the late Ettie Lord Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Smith. Survivors include a son, Alfred L. (Myra) Smith, Jr., of Maysville, a daughter, Gloria (John W.) Boone of Jefferson, two sisters, Zelma Smith and Genelle Chandler both of Commerce, four grandchildren, Michael (Missy) Smith, Dusty (Taryn) Smith, Benji (Jada) Boone, and Brandon (Brianna) Boone. Four great grandchildren also survive. Services for Mrs. Smith will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Duncan and the Rev. Benji Boone officiating. Burial will be in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Monday evening, March 3, 2014 from 4 to 9 PM.
