Theron Harold Stancil

Ivie Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Theron Harold Stancil, age 80, of Commerce who passed away on Thursday evening in NEGA Medical Center. Mr. Stancil was the son of the late Harold and Myrtie Lou Davis Stancil. He was retired from the FAA where was the Budget Director. Mr. Stancil also served in the Army and the Reserves. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Sims Stancil of the home, 2 sons, Theron (Meredith Rubel) Stancil, Jr. of Marietta, and David (Denise) Stancil of Acworth, one daughter, Susan Stancil of Nashville, TN, one brother, Billy Stancil of Macon and 2 sisters, Jane Roberts of Covington and Ann Brown of Commerce. Six grandchildren and six great-children along with several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Stancil was predeceased by one son, Byran Clark Stancil. Services will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 3PM from the First Baptist Church of Commerce with the Rev. Carlton Allen officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:30PM until the service hour. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Capitol Improvement Fund or the Mended Hearts Association Chapter #171.
