Virginia Ruth Stowe

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Virginia Ruth Stowe, 73, of Commerce who passed away on Tuesday at her residence. Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Richard and Nancy Clemens Bridges and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Willard Bridges and Edwin Bridges. Survivors include her husband, Willard Stowe of the residence; children, Deb Stowe of Commerce, Angie Minish of Maysville, Janie Johnston of Commerce and Carol Hill, also of Commerce; brothers, Julian Bridges and Jimmy Bridges, both of Commerce; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 11 AM from the Nicholson Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Smith and Rev. Grady Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-8 PM and at other times at the residence located at 1136 Bolton Gordon Rd. in Commerce. The body will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:30 until the time of service.
