William Boyd Chandler, Sr., age 84 of Maysville, GA went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
Born on September 11, 1938, Mr. Chandler was the son of the late John Hoyt and Mary Claudine Stewart Chandler. He was the widower of Shelia Fredrick Chandler. Mr. Chandler started and operated Advertising Specialties for more than 40 years in the Northeast Georgia area. He had a love for old cars and enjoyed attending various car shows in the area. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and was a member of Midway United Methodist Church in Gillsville, GA.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Chandler (Lewis) McConnell, Commerce; sons, Boyd (Marie) Chandler, Jefferson, Greg (Lisa) Chandler, Maysville; brothers, Pittman (Dessie) Chandler, Canon, Dr. Rev. Ben (Patricia) Chandler, Ashville, AL; sisters, Linda (Vernon) O’Kelley, Winder, Retha Kemp, Oakwood; grandchildren, Dr. Brittany (Austin) Lord, Ryan McConnell, Tyler (Jade) Thurmond, Dakota Thurmond, Kylee Carroll; great-grandchildren, David Lord, Avery Thurmond, and Nora Thurmond.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marshall Dale, Rev. Ross Johns, and Dr. Rev. Ben Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 11 am until the funeral hour Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Midway United Methodist Church of Gillsville.
