Willie Tom Slater

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Willie Tom Slater, 73, of Commerce who passed away early Friday morning at his residence. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Paul James and Minnie Mae Gee Slater. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Kitchens Slater. Survivors include his siblings, Barbara McEver, Gertrude McDaniel, Clifford Slater and Johnny Slater, all of Commerce and Dorothy Kitchens of Hull; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce with Rev. John Webber and Rev. Henry Webb and Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Grey Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6-9 PM.
