Clara Louise Tunnell, age 74 of Jefferson, GA passed away Wednesday April 06, 2016.
Mrs. Tunnell was the daughter of the late Grady and Grace Byrd Parks and was the widow of Willard C. Tunnell, Sr. She was a baker with Walmart in Commerce, GA, a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher for a long time and she loved her children and grandchildren. Clara was preceded in death by a daughter, Teressa Franklin, sister, Hazel Rawlings and brother, Troyce Parks.
Survivors include a son, Junior (Carol) Tunnell, Lawrenceville; 3 daughters, Pam Veal, Commerce, Carol Tullis, Jefferson; Annette (Ken) Maynard, Commerce; 3 sisters, Mildred (Harold) Davis, Lawrenceville, Carolyn Parks, Buford, Gail (Eddie) Paden Buford; brother-in-law, Bill Rawlings, Martinez; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 2 pm Friday April 08, 2016 at Crooked Creek Baptist Church, Athens, GA with the Rev. Tom Miles, Rev. Adam Humphries and Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday April 07, 2016 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
